Xavier's University Cultural and Arts Society

Xavier's University Cultural and Arts Society (XUCAS) is a vibrant student-led platform dedicated to nurturing creativity, artistic excellence, and cultural engagement within the university community. Encompassing the diverse fields of music, dance, theatre, and visual arts, XUCAS provides students with opportunities to explore, develop, and showcase their talents in a supportive and inclusive environment.

The Society seeks to celebrate cultural diversity by fostering meaningful interaction and collaboration among students, faculty, and staff from varied backgrounds. Through performances, exhibitions, workshops, mentorship programmes, and cultural events, XUCAS encourages artistic expression, builds confidence, enhances creative competencies, and promotes intercultural understanding. By creating spaces for learning, innovation, and artistic exchange, the Society contributes to the holistic development of students and enriches the cultural life of the University.

XUCAS organizes its flagship program XAVKALA every year. Students of the university come together to celebrate art, dance, music and theatre. This event is a reminder about how vital these platforms for art are, especially within institutional frameworks.

The members of XUCAS also participate in XAVRANG, which is the university fest organised by the Students' Board with enthusiasm. The students also participate in the creative activities in all the fests, events held in the university.

The teachers and students of the society celebrate Rabindra Jayanti ever year through songs and dance.

XUCAS actively takes part in the fests, events held in colleges, universities not only in West Bengal but also in other states as well. They win accolades and awards representing the university and thus upholding the spirit of creativity.
