Xavier's Commerce & Management Society

The Xavier's Commerce and Management Society (XCMS) is the official student society of the Faculty of Commerce and Management at St. Xavier's University, Kolkata. Guided by its motto, "Bringing Corporates into Classrooms," XCMS serves as a bridge between academic learning and industry exposure, enabling students to gain practical insights into the corporate world alongside their formal education.

The Society is committed to fostering professional excellence by organizing a wide range of academic, corporate, cultural, and social initiatives that encourage experiential learning and holistic development. Through management fests, speaker sessions, industry interactions, competitions, workshops, and community engagement programmes, XCMS provides students with opportunities to develop leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills essential for their future careers.

Over the years, the Society has established itself as one of the most vibrant student-led bodies of the University, contributing significantly to the academic and professional growth of the student community.

The Xavier’s Commerce and Management Society (XCMS) functions under a structured organizational framework that ensures the effective planning and execution of its initiatives. The Society is headed by its President, Rev. Dr. John Felix Raj, SJ, and operates under the guidance of two Professors-in-Charge who mentor and oversee its activities.

The student leadership is entrusted to a Core Committee comprising approximately 10–12 members, responsible for the Society's overall management and strategic direction. Supporting the Core Committee is a Sub-Committee, followed by the Working Committee Members, who contribute across various functional areas and play a key role in organizing events and implementing the Society's initiatives. This collaborative structure enables XCMS to function efficiently while providing students with valuable opportunities to develop leadership, teamwork, and organizational skills.

X-Inovaè '26
March 6-7, 2026

X-Inovaè is the flagship annual inter-college management fest of XCMS, providing students with a platform to showcase their managerial, analytical, and creative abilities. The fest featured competitions across various domains, including Best Manager, Finance, Strategic Escape, Public Relations and Marketing, Sports Management, and Creative Media, attracting participation from leading institutions across the country. In addition to its competitive events, X-Inovae hosts industry leaders and renowned personalities to enrich the learning experience. The latest edition, held on 6th and 7th March 2026, featured a guest session by Ashneer Grover and an entertainment performance by Nayab Midha, making it a memorable blend of learning, competition, and engagement.

X-Verse '25

X-Verse is the flagship intra-college management fest of XCMS, designed to provide students with a platform to apply classroom concepts to real-world business and management challenges. The fest features competitions across multiple domains, including Finance, Best Manager, Strategic Management, Public Relations and Marketing, Sports Management, and Creative Media, fostering leadership, teamwork, creativity, and strategic thinking among participants.

The latest edition, held on 8th November 2025, also featured an interactive session with Anmol Garg, offering students valuable insights and inspiration beyond the competitive arena. Through X-Verse, XCMS continues to promote experiential learning and holistic student development.

X-Vision '25

X-Vision is the intra-faculty management event of XCMS, organized exclusively for first-year students of the Faculty of Commerce and Management. Designed as an introduction to the world of management competitions and student leadership, the event provides participants with an opportunity to showcase their analytical thinking, creativity, communication, and problem-solving abilities through competitions across domains such as Finance, Human Resources, and Public Relations.

Serving as a launchpad for budding managers, X-Vision encourages students to step beyond the classroom, compete with their peers, and gain early exposure to the culture of professional and managerial excellence. The latest edition, held on 23rd August 2025, also featured a special guidance session by Aswini Bajaj, who shared valuable insights on careers and opportunities in the field of finance, making the event an enriching learning experience for participants.

XavUltra Talks '24

XavUltra Talks is the flagship corporate and leadership conclave of XCMS, bringing together renowned industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals to engage with students through insightful speaker sessions and panel discussions. The event provides a unique platform for students to gain practical industry perspectives, learn from real-world experiences, and interact with accomplished experts from diverse fields.

The latest edition, held on 13th September 2024, featured eminent speakers and industry professionals, including Vivek Bajaj, Aswini Bajaj, Rohit Surana, Aadarsh Chaudhary, Chaitali Das, and Harshit Chokhani, making it one of the Society's most impactful platforms for learning, networking, and professional development.

Khwahish '24

Khwahish is the social outreach initiative of XCMS, dedicated to creating a positive impact on the lives of underprivileged children. Organized annually, the programme involves the distribution of educational materials, essential supplies, meals, and recreational items, along with a variety of fun-filled activities and interactive sessions.

The initiative seeks to promote empathy, compassion, and social responsibility among students while fostering meaningful community engagement. The latest edition, held on 22nd December 2024 brought together volunteers to support children from underserved communities through educational assistance, recreational activities, and the distribution of essential supplies, reflecting the Society's commitment to social impact and community welfare.
