Admission 2026-2027
St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata, has launched a policy that would enable students to join the university's UG courses in the 3rd, 5th and 7th semesters. This policy facilitates student mobility across universities by allowing the transfer of credits as advised by the UGC.
Students pursuing Four-Year B.A. (English, Economics, Mass Communication, Psychology), B.Sc. (Statistics & Data Science), B.Com., and B.M.S. courses in UGC approved Universities within the country are welcome to join St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata in the 3rd, 5th and 7th semesters, subject to the fulfilment of the eligibility conditions, vacancy in the respective departments and submission of relevant documents. The credits they have earned in the first 2 semesters / 4 semesters / 6 semesters of study, respectively, will be transferred and integrated with the credits they earn in the respective Years of study at this University to enable them to obtain a 4-year UG Degree from St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata.
Eligibility Criteria:
1. Must have successfully completed all previous semesters and have earned the necessary credits, e.g., at least 120 credits without having any arrears at the end of 3 years.
2. Must possess a valid Exit/Provisional Certificate showing that they have earned Level 5.0 (First Year/UG Certificate), Level 5.5 (Second Year/UG Diploma), and Level 6.00 (Third Year / 3-Year UG Degree).
3. For B.A. & B.Sc. courses, there should be at least 70% similarity in the contents of the Major Courses Studied. The decision of St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata, in adjudicating the similarity shall be final.
4. For B.Com. & B.M.S Courses, the similarity will be adjudged based on the overall course content.
Documents to be submitted along with the application:
1. Copies of Mark-sheets/Statements of marks of the respective previous semesters. (In case results are not published for the last semester (2nd / 4th / 6th), a copy of the Admit Card must be submitted at the time of application.
2. Certified copies/official link of the present university of the relevant curriculum in detail.
3. Copy of Exit/Provisional Certificate certifying award of UG Certificate/UG Diploma/3-Year UG Degree (in case results are not published, the same may be submitted at the time of final admission).
Other requirements:
1. All permissions shall be conditional. The university may recommend suitable courses from SWAYAM/NPTEL and other MOOC platforms, based on courses/papers offered by this university in previous semesters, for the applicant to register and clear; failing to do so within the stipulated time may lead to cancellation of enrolment.
The last date for application for entry into UG Courses for the Academic Year 2026-27 is August 15, 2026. The application and the required documents must reach the Registrar of the University by email (admissions@sxuk.edu.in) / by post / in person.
