Semester System

Semester refers to the duration of an academic period, typically six months, and applies to all programmes of study conducted in the semester system.
There shall be two semesters in an Academic Year (AY), i.e. Odd Semester (July to December) and Even Semester (January to June).
The undergraduate (UG) degree programmes (excluding undergraduate law degree programmes) are four years in duration, divided into eight semesters (Semester 1 to Semester 8).
The undergraduate (UG) law degree programmes, i.e. B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and B.Com. LL.B. (Hons.) are of five years in duration, divided into ten semesters (Semester 1 to Semester 10).
The postgraduate (PG) degree programmes are of one-year or two-years duration, divided into two semesters (Semester 1 and Semester 2) or four semesters (Semester 1 to Semester 4) respectively.
