XSLAJ organises Xavier Meditation Competition
Xavier Society of Law and Justice (XSLAJ) of St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata (SXUK) organised the third Xavier Mediation Competition (XMC) at the university campus from April 2 to 4, 2025.
The XMC was a true celebration of advocacy, collaboration, and the art of peaceful dispute resolution. Rev. Dr. John Felix Raj, SJ, Vice-Chancellor of SXUK delivered the inaugural address. Students from different universities and institutions across the country participated in this event.
Preliminary rounds of every event took place on the second day and all participating teams engaged in intense simulated mediation sessions, displaying empathy, critical thinking, and persuasive dialogue. The quarter-finals and semi-finals took place on the final day. The final round was a masterclass in negotiation and mediation, judged by esteemed experts in the field.
XMC Cup (Best Negotiating Pair) was lifted by the Jindal Global Law School and MNLU Aurangabad finished as the runner-up. MNLU Mumbai also won the Magis Cup as the Best Mediator. Students of SXUK bagged the award of the Best Counsel. All judges and experts were felicitated on the final day.
