In a heartwarming display of community spirit, Fr. Felix Raj and a delegation of esteemed Fathers from St. Xavier's University, Kolkata, traveled 70 kilometers to Pandua, a vibrant census town in West Bengal, to participate in a joyous celebration. The occasion was the inauguration of a newly constructed stage and a thanksgiving service, which drew a gathering of approximately 1,000 people on a sunny Sunday.

The festivities began with a warm welcome from Fr. Amulya, the priest-in-charge of the Pandua Mission, who treated the guests to a delightful breakfast. As the Fathers made their way to the altar, they were ceremoniously escorted by a troupe of tribal dancers, and their hands were washed in accordance with the revered local Santal custom.

In a joyous moment, Fr. Felix Raj offered a heartfelt prayer, followed by the inauguration of the stage, which was graciously shared with Sr. Josephine, the senior most Holy Cross Sister in Pandua. The Fathers then came together to celebrate the thanksgiving Eucharist, a beautiful expression of gratitude and faith.

The newly constructed stage, generously sponsored by Fr. Felix Raj, is poised to become a hub of community activity, serving the people and school children of Pandua. The Mass was followed by a captivating cultural programme, showcasing the talents of St. Xavier's School students from Pandua.

In his brief address, Fr. Felix Raj expressed St. Xavier's University's immense delight in extending support to the Pandua Centre. Our University-Village connect initiative is poised to make significant strides, ultimately benefiting numerous rural students. It is essential that our collaborative spirit endures.

As the celebration drew to a close, Fr. Amulya extended his heartfelt thanks to Fr. Felix Raj and the visiting Fathers for their kindness and presence. In a symbolic gesture, Fr. Felix Raj and Mr. Ghosh, the contractor, unveiled a jubilee plaque, dedicating the stage to the community. The festivities concluded with a sumptuous lunch, enjoyed by all in attendance.
