St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata celebrated Teachers Day on September 5, 2024, to reflect on the immeasurable impact that educators have on students. The programme was graced by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Rev.Dr.John Felix Raj and other dignitaries.

The Women & Gender Development Cell had hosted earlier an Essay Competition for the undergraduate students entitled “Celebrating the roles and responsibilities of Women Teachers”. under the guidance of Dr. Antara Ghatak. The winners were felicitated by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor on this day.

Fr.John Felix Raj, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor delivered the key note address on the occasion of teachers day and called upon the teaching community to embrace Ignatian Praxis of context, experience, reflection, action and evaluation to evolve as champions in the field of academics.

Dr.Susmita Haldar, Dr.Tutun Mukherjee and Dr.Souvik Mukherjee shared their insights about the indomitable journey undertaken by them at St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata in preparing young men and women for others as leaders of tomorrow.

The event concluded with a note of gratitude to the teaching fraternity for dedicating their lives in this noble profession. The programme was anchored by Mario Martin Louis.
