St. Xavier's University, Kolkata (SXUK) organized an Orientation programme on Inter-religious Studies for Global Citizenship course for its faculty members on July 14, 2023. Rev. Fr. John Felix Raj, S.J., Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of SXUK was the resource person.

In his delightful address, Father Raj touched upon various issues pertaining to the academic study of religion, understanding of spirituality in the context of the global religious landscape, essence of religious pluralism and inter-religious dialogue. He also said that the goal of the faculty orientation was to achieve a deeper and broader understanding of the value systems in different religions and the basic philosophy required for global citizenship. “This is expected from the faculty members to pass on the same to our students”, he added.

Prof. Sovik Mukherjee, the Course Coordinator shared the details of the modular syllabus, course plan, CO-PO mapping and evaluation plan. The programme ended with an interactive session.
