St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata (SXUK) is organising a 2-week Capacity Building Programme (CBP), sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi for young faculty members of social science from June 12 to 24, 2023 in the university campus.

Dr. Shashi Panja, State Cabinet Minister for Industries, Commerce and Enterprises inaugurated the programme in the presence of Father John Felix Raj, S.J., Vice-Chancellor, SXUK.

Dr. Panja applauded the efforts and invited SXUK to get associated with her Department of Women and Child Development and Social Welfare in future for carrying out development projects at various level.

Father Raj said, “An educational institute as a centre of knowledge must collaborate with other institutes for the growth of knowledge.”

He also announced that SXUK has already signed an MoU with Webel and is working on some innovative projects with the New Town Kolkata Development Authority (NKDA), Judicial Academy and West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS).

The first day of the workshop witnessed participation of young academicians from different parts of the country. Eminent professionals have been invited to give hands on training. Dr. Mononita Kundu Das of Xavier Law School is the Director of the programme.
