In another attempt to contribute in the field of science and technology, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata (SXUK) inaugurated the Faculty of Science on August 2, 2022. The Office of the Dean was inaugurated by Rev. Dr. John Felix Raj, S.J., Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of SXUK.

Rev. Dr. A. Arockiasamy, S.J. has been appointed as the first Dean of the Faculty of Science. A short programme took place followed by a reading from the Holy Bible. In his first vibrant address to the freshers admitted to M.Sc. in Statistics and M.Sc. in Computer Science programmes, Fr. Vice-Chancellor advised them to delve in the studies right from the beginning and remain innovative in their approaches.

The guidelines, rules and regulations of the University were narrated by Registrar Prof. Ashis Mitra. The programme was attended by all Deans, Heads, Officers and other staff members. A two-day orientation programme was also taken place. Students found the sessions highly enriching.
