St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata (SXUK) celebrated its seventh Foundation Day on February 8, 2023 with pomp and ceremony.

In his inaugural speech, Rev. Fr. John Felix Raj, SJ, Vice-Chancellor, SXUK enlightened everyone with the message of a Jesuit society that is being followed by everyone in the University.

While describing the journey of the University from ideation to foundation, he emphasized on establishing the value system here according to the Jesuit values.

Rev. Fr. Jeyaraj Veluswamy, S.J. was the Chief Guest who shared the reflection of Jesuit values and the Ignatian pedagogy in teaching-learning process here. He congratulated the faculty and staff members of the University for their dedication to meet the objectives.

The holy foundation prayer was read out by Father Mourlin K, S.J. All the faculty and staff members, class representatives of every class and volunteers were present.

Dr. Somnath Banerjee
