The 8th Foundation Day of St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata, was celebrated on February 8, 2024, at the Albert Huart Hall. The programme started at 4 p.m. with the opening song.

In the welcome address, the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Dr. John Felix Raj, S.J., upheld the memories of the inception time and the values of Jesuit education. The Chief Guest, Hon’ble Justice Sanjib Banerjee (former Chief Justice of Madras High Court), was felicitated by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Dr. John Felix Raj.

The Foundation Day lecture titled "Legal Reforms in the Age of Globalisation and Its Effect on the Society" by the Chief Guest was focused on the interface between society and legal reforms. The book titled "A Brief on Fixed Point Theorems with an Invitation to Some Fixed-Point Theorems for Ray-Oriented Maps," authored by Rev. Dr. Anthony Arockiasamy, was released by the Hon’ble Justice in the presence of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and the Registrar of the University, and the first copy was presented to Rev. Dr. Ignacimuthu, the former Vice Chancellor of Madras University.

The members of the University gathered for the cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate the event. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Somnath Banerjee, marking the end of the programme.
