St. Xavier's University, Kolkata, launched an innovative English Language Camp for rural school children at Uttarayan Primary School in Gobardanga, founded and administered by Mr. Timir Biswas and his dedicated team. Inaugurated by Fr. John Felix Raj, the camp aims to boost spoken English and communication skills among students.

From June 8-14, 2025, faculty and students from the university reside in Gobardanga, working closely with local students to overcome language barriers and improve educational outcomes. This pioneering initiative seeks to replicate its model in other rural areas, fostering a deeper connection between urban and rural students through immersive experiences.
