St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata (SXUK) hosted two events under its Environmental Studies and Sustainable Development curriculum on April 25 and 26, 2025 at the university campus.

The event was inaugurated by Rev. Dr. John Felix Raj S.J., Vice-Chancellor of SXUK in the presence of other dignitaries. The aim was to emphasise a myriad of ecological issues. On the first day, students of second semester of BMS organised a poster presentation on waste management, plastic pollution, climate change, and species conservation. Dr. Kaberi Dutta, an external expert evaluated the performance of the students.

On the second day, students made a presentation on sustainable business plans and models. The session showcased six innovative business pitches and were evaluated by Dr. Sandeep Ghosh, and Dr. Kaberi Dutta. Some notable business plans presented by the students were Airlixir, Green Wallet and Pure Earth Crafters and Smart Dustbin.
