The Department of Commerce (Morning Section) of St. Xavier's University, Kolkata in collaboration with the National Institute of Disaster Management, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India organized a National Webinar, titled "Pandemic and Life Beyond It", on 12th of March 2021 from 11 am to 2 pm. It witnessed massive participation and the total number of attendees were 375.

The Inaugural Address was delivered by Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor of the University, Rev. Fr. (Dr.) John Felix Raj, S.J., and the Context Setting Address by Dr. Anil Kumar Gupta, Head of Department, ECDRM, National Institute of Disaster Management, Ministry of Home Affairs. The technical session comprised four well-synchronized talks by the Webinar Initiator, Shri Ashish Panda and the Webinar Convenor, Prof. Sovik Mukherjee.

In the first talk Shri Ashish Panda of NIDM elucidated the current position of the country through a statistical analysis of the Pandemic and its aftermath with a snapshot view of the trends observed in the number of reported cases. The second talk was on "Community Medicine" by Dr. Ashish Mittal (CEO, OHS Management Consultancy Service) and the third was on "Pandemic and Mental Well-being" by Prof. Girish Mishra (O.P. Jindal University, Raigarh).

The technical session was very engaging, and the details highlighted by the esteemed speakers were very precise and informative in nature. It ended with focus upon the mental health and well-being of individuals. Dr. Avadhesh Sharma, the last speaker for the day (Invertis University, Bareilly), engaged the participants in light meditation to make each one present in the webinar aware of their surroundings and their own selves, to lead one another towards better self-introspection while accepting the changes and the challenges the pandemic would leave behind with us.

Rev. Fr. (Dr.) Soosai Nayagam, S.J., Associate Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Management (Morning), St. Xavier's University, Kolkata, delivered the Valedictory Address.
