ARGUMENTATIVE XAVERIANS CELEBRATING DR. B R AMBEDKAR

Dr. B R Ambedkar was one of the Architects of the Constitution of India. He fought to eradicate the social evils like untouchability and for the rights of the Dalits and other socially backward classes throughout his life. To honor his life and contributions to the Indian Democracy, the Department of Commerce (Morning Section) organized a debate on the occasion of the 130th Birthday Celebrations of Dr. B R Ambedkar on 13th and 14th of April, 2021.

Interested students were invited to debate through online mode in a competitive set up on their views. The topic for the first session which was held on 13th of April, 2021 was "Reservation in the times of Pandemic". It was oxford style debate wherein the students were evaluated by the Faculty members of the department.

Four teams participated and two qualified for the final debate on the 14th of April, 2021. The topic for the final round of the debate was - Reservations in the time of Pandemic : Perspectives from the Indian Democracy.

All the faculty members participated in the evaluation and deliberations with the teams. Since it was a competition, one emerged as a winner while the efforts of both the teams was appreciated and well received. The Team of Anish Shaw and Uzair Anwar from Semester IV of B.COM (Morning) was declared the winner.
