St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata celebrated the inauguration of its National Cadet Corps (NCC) Unit on 20th January, 2026, opening new avenues for students to develop leadership, discipline, and a strong sense of national pride.

The inaugural program was graced by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, NCC officers, University officials, faculty members, and enthusiastic cadets. Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries encouraged students to embrace NCC as a platform for personal growth, teamwork, adventure, and service to the nation.

An orientation session followed the inauguration, where students were introduced to the core values of NCC—Unity and Discipline—along with details of training, camps, social service activities, and career opportunities. The session generated great excitement among students eager to begin their journey as NCC cadets.

The event which was convened by the NCC Care Taker Officer of the University, marked the beginning of an inspiring chapter in campus life, as the University looks forward to empowering students through NCC to become confident, responsible, and socially committed citizens.
