Students’ Board of St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata (SXUK) organised the two-day annual cultural festival ‘Xavrang 2026’ on January 16-17, 2026 at the university campus.

The theme of this year’s Xavrang was “The Indian Mosaic: Traditions and Tales.” The fest was inaugurated by Rev. Dr. John Felix Raj, S.J., Vice-Chancellor of SXUK. Apart from SXUK students, participants came from 60 colleges and universities.

The first day featured a wide range of academic, cultural, literary, business, legal, technical, and creative events, culminating in the Myntra Glamfest Tour and a musical performance by renowned playback singer Ms. Asees Kaur.

The second day of the grand event culminated in a grand showcase of flagship fashion, dance, sustainability, photography, coding, economics, psychology, and debating events, followed by the Closing and Awards Ceremony and a high-energy performance by DJ AAHI.

The ‘Best College Representative’ award was bagged by the J. D. Birla Institute, with The Bhawanipur Education Society College receiving the award for ‘Best College.’ Sister Nivedita University finshed as runner-up.

Team Xavrang’26 extends profound gratitude to its esteemed sponsors, whose unwavering support brought the celebration to life. The enthusiastic efforts of the office bearers, student heads, committees, societies, and participants brought the entire university family together, reinforcing the university’s commitment to cultural appreciation, innovation, and collective participation.
