Department of Mass Communication of St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata (SXUK) organised a guest lecture on “Ethical dilemma for media professionals” for its postgraduate students on April 1, 2026 at the university campus.

Dr. Nikhil Moro, Associate Professor from Kansas State University USA was the resource person.

Dr. Moro discussed theoretical approaches to media ethics. He emphasised how ethics can be distinguished from etiquette and morality. He also shared real-life experiences and dilemma while working in the industry that made the applications of ethics in media laws more prominent.

Dr. Moro elaborated on various ethical issues and advised participants to follow standardized professional code of ethics. He discussed that media professionals should be more vigilant while covering international issues. The lecture concluded with an interaction with students and faculty members of the department.
