New Town/Kolkata (6 April 2026): The department of Social Work, SXUK today 6 April 2026 organised an orientation on the MSW Specialisations offered by the Department for the students of MSW, Sem-II. The students are to choose their areas of speciaisations by June 2026.

The Master of Scial Work (MSW) programme, SXUK offers two Specialisations – Human Resource Management & Development (HRDM) , and Famly & Child Welfare (FCW). Addressig the students before the orinetation session, Dr. Jacob Islary, HoD, SW, urged the students to choose their specialisation based on self-reflection on what would make them happy and satisfied Social Workers. While the Orientation on HRDM was led by Dr. Srenwantee Bhatacharjee, FCW was led by Dr. Rupa Biswas. Dr. Sucheta Paul, Dr. Jacob Islary and Mr. Sudipto Bhattacharya took on the discussion sessions. The Sesison began at 3.45 pm and ended at 4.40 pm.

The Department of Social Work, SXUK will also introduce Community Development – Rural and Urban from July 2026 for the Class of 2026-28 and onwards.
