St. Xavier’s University Kolkata Alumni Association (SXUKAA) organised a programme to mark the culmination of the Golden Jubilee Year of Jesuit Life of its President, Rev. Dr. John Felix Raj, SJ, on January 3, 2025, at the university campus.

The event featured a thought-provoking cultural performance by Baul singers from Santiniketan, who presented a specially curated show titled ‘Sanyasi Jiban’, reflecting on the essence of ascetic life. This artistic tribute added a unique spiritual dimension to the celebration.

As a gesture of admiration and gratitude, Fr. Felix Raj was felicitated by the SXUKAA office bearers. A specially composed song dedicated to his golden jubilee was played, further enhancing the emotional resonance of the occasion.

In his address, Fr. Felix Raj thanked Mr. Vatsal Chirimar, Hony. Secretary of SXUKAA, and his dedicated team of alumni members not just for organising the programme but for their unwavering commitment and for closely collaborating with the university in its various endeavours.

In a spirit of generosity and compassion, Fr. Raj distributed blankets and shawls to 250 construction workers, maintenance staff, and other workers of the university. This act of kindness highlighted the values of service and solidarity central to Jesuit philosophy and made the event truly inclusive and meaningful.
