Research Development Cell of St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata (SXUK) organised a virtual session with eminent administrator Dr. Kiran Bedi, the former Lt. Governor of Puducherry and an IPS officer on April 3, 2023. She was invited to give a guest lecture on ‘Fearless Governance’.

While delivering the inaugural address, Rev. Father John Felix Raj, SJ, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of SXUK stressed on the need of good governance in institutions, particularly in educational institutions. “There is a need to develop robust leadership quality”, he added.

Dr. Kiran Bedi discussed the moribund administrative system as she found it while serving as the Lt. Governor of Puducherry. She advised everyone not to bow down but to face the situation in order to be a successful leader.

She also made a virtual tour of her latest book namely ‘Fearless Governance’. The book is translated in Hindi, Tamil, Marathi and Malayalam, based on the ground realities as she witnessed in Puducherry. At the end, a brief interaction was held between Dr. Bedi and faculty members in online mode.

The entire programme took place in a video conferencing mode at the Albert Huart Hall, Arrupe Building. All faculty members and students of SXUK attended the programme.
