SXUK debuts ‘Xenesis 2026’ e-magazine
St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata (SXUK) launched Xenesis 2026, the first e-magazine of the Faculty of Science on March 28, 2026. Published by the Xavier’s Society for Science and Innovation (XSSI), the magazine aims to promote scientific curiosity, creativity, and interdisciplinary engagement within the university community.
Rev. Dr. John Felix Raj, SJ, Vice-Chancellor of SXUK, while unveiling the e-magazine, praised the endeavour for symbolizing a fresh intellectual beginning. Father Felix Raj said, “I am confident that this magazine will inspire readers to think critically, innovate boldly, and continue contributing to the advancement of knowledge.”
Drawing a meaningful comparison, Father Felix Raj noted that while Genesis signifies origins, Xenesis captures the essence of “new beginnings” for the university’s academic journey.
The inaugural volume, themed “Decoding Reality: How Statistics and Algorithms Shape the Modern World,” delves into the hidden mathematical and computational frameworks that define modern life.
Applauding the initiative, Dr. Tuhin Utsab Paul, Dean of Science said, "This magazine stands as a reflection of the intellectual curiosity, creativity, and scientific spirit that our students continually demonstrate."
Xenesis 2026 embodies XSSI’s commitment to blending knowledge, technology, and human values, echoing the Xavierian motto Nihil Ultra (Nothing Beyond). The publication stands as a celebration of collaboration, academic excellence, and the intellectual vitality.
