Responding to the needs of society, Student Board of the St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata (SXUK) organised a Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with the Association of Voluntary Blood Donors, West Bengal on February 17, 2023 in the university premises.

A total of 400 students, volunteers of the Student Board, faculty members and non-teaching staff members of the university donated their blood enthusiastically. Rev. Fr. John Felix Raj, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of the University congratulated the donors for participating in such a life-saving programme.

The donors were given food packets after they had donated blood. The camp ran smoothly as adequate medical facilities were available.

While inaugurating the programme, Debasish Sen, the Chairman of Housing and Industrial Development Corporation (HIDCO), West Bengal said that the organisation has been planning to conduct many such programmes. The HIDCO expects assistance of St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata in carrying out their social development programmes in near future also, he added.
