The Department of Mass Communication, St. Xavier's University, Kolkata organized an Online Photography Competition in the month of June - July, 2020 to kindle the creativity of the students amidst the gloomy pandemic.
The theme of the Online Photography Competition was 'Unlock: A New Hope'. The theme was decided keeping in mind the current situation thereby instilling hope for a better tomorrow. As after every monsoon comes autumn, similarly, each Xaverian believes that the situation will become better tomorrow and normalcy will prevail.
The online photography competition witnessed large number of entries. The judges were impressed seeing the photographs and how the competition helped the young minds to think critically by putting their ideas together through lenses.
Sayani Chakraborty of Visva-Bharati University secured the First Position, Rishikesh Chowdhury of JIS University secured the Second Position and Sohom Nandi of Amity University, Kolkata secured the Third Position. All the winners will receive E-certificate from the University.
Overall, the online photography competition has been a huge success. Thanks to all our participants for clicking wonderful pictures.
