St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata, in collaboration with Desun Hospital, ASG hospital & and the National Insurance Company, organized a Health Checkup Camp for faculty and staff members on Saturday, 8th August 2026. The camp was inaugurated at 10:30 am and continued till 4:00 pm, offering preventive healthcare services such as general consultation, ECG (on doctor’s advice), weight check, blood pressure check, random blood sugar test, pulmonary function test, and eye check-up.

The inauguration ceremony began with the welcoming of the Desun Hospital and National Insurance Company team, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp. Rev. Dr. Xavier Jeyaraj, Registrar of the university, delivered the Welcome Address, highlighting the importance of wellness and preventive healthcare in academic life. 

The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation, with 75 staff members availing the eye check-up and 109 staff members undergoing other health tests. The dedicated support of student volunteers and members of the Women & Gender Development Cell ensured the smooth and efficient functioning of the camp. This initiative not only provided preventive healthcare services but also reaffirmed SXUK’s commitment to the holistic well-being of its employees.
