The Faculty of Science, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata, organized an online session on “Fighting Financial Crime with Data” on August 13, 2025, at 8:00 PM via Zoom.

The session was conducted by Mr. Shaswata Mukherjee, Assistant Vice President – Regulatory Compliance, HSBC. The program was attended by around 55 students, and it ran smoothly until 9:10 PM.

The session witnessed active participation from both students and the speaker. Students raised several important questions, which were addressed effectively by Mr. Mukherjee. The interaction created a fruitful learning environment, and participants found the session useful and insightful.

Overall, the program was successful in enhancing students’ understanding of the role of data in combating financial crimes and demonstrated the real-world application of statistical and analytical tools.
