Dr. Susmita Subba is an Assistant Professor of Commerce at St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata in the Faculty of Commerce & Management Studies. Previously, she served as a Guest Faculty in the Department of Management at Sikkim University, Sikkim , where she gained valuable academic experience.
She completed her schooling in Jorethang, Sikkim, followed by a Bachelor of Commerce from St. Joseph’s College North Point, Darjeeling. Dr. Subba earned her Master’s in Commerce from Sikkim Manipal University, Gangtok.
Dr. Subba qualified the National Testing Agency (NTA) UGC NET Examination in 2019, making her eligible for the post of Assistant Professor. Driven by her keen interest in Financial Markets Volatility, she pursued doctoral studies at Sikkim University, Gangtok, in 2021 completing her Ph.D. in December 2024 from the Department of Commerce. She has published in various academic journals, contributing to the field of commerce.
She was also awarded the UGC Junior Research Fellowship (NET-JRF) and the ICSSR (Indian Council of Social Science Research) Fellowship (not availed).
Additionally, Dr. Subba holds a certification from the National Stock Exchange and Sikkim Manipal University for the NSE Academy Certified Capital Market Professional (NCCMP) course.
In addition to her academic accomplishments, She is the holder of a patent [GERMAN PATENT AND TRADEMARK UTILITY MODEL NO: 20 2024 106 110] for Creation of Composite Risk Index (CRI) for Financial Market, underscoring her contribution to innovative research.
