Dr. Shazia Nasreen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at St. Xavier's University, Kolkata, and a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India. She recently completed her Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
Her research focuses on cognitive psychology, clinical psychology, and cognitive neuroscience, with a particular interest in eye-tracking methodologies to understand visual perception, attention, and cognitive processing. She has also contributed to interdisciplinary research in psycho-oncology, speech-based depression detection, and technology-assisted interventions for dyslexia. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international conferences.
Dr. Nasreen is a recipient of the Sushobhit Yadav Young Clinical Psychologist Award (2024), the Best Paper Award at the 6th International Conference on Mental Healthcare in India (2024), and the Dr. Saugata Basu Memorial Award for Outstanding Research in Clinical Psychology. She is also a Fellow in Psycho-Oncology from Tata Medical Center, Kolkata. Her research interests include eye tracking, visual cognition, cognitive assessment, and the application of technology in psychological science.
