Biographical Sketch

Dr. Ayush Anand is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mass Communication at St. Xavier's University, Kolkata. Prior to joining St. Xavier's University, he served as Assistant Professor of Mass Communication at Xavier University, Patna, and Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Motihari. He earned his Ph.D. in Mass Communication with a specialization in Health Communication from the Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) in 2025. He completed his Master's in Journalism and Mass Communication from the same university in 2018, graduating as the School Gold Medalist. He qualified the UGC-NET in Mass Communication three times and was awarded the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in 2021. Dr. Anand's research has received recognition at both national and international levels. His work has been published in the internationally reputed journal Health Communication (Taylor & Francis), and he has presented his research at leading academic forums, including the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) Conference in Lyon, France. His scholarly contributions have also been recognized with the Best Research Paper Award at an international conference organized by Chandragupt Institute of Management, Patna. His research primarily focuses on health communication, development communication, digital media, artificial intelligence, and rural communication. Dr. Anand's academic career integrates teaching, research, editorial practice, and development-sector experience, reflecting a strong commitment to media education, interdisciplinary scholarship, and socially relevant research.
