XLS organises conference on criminal justice administration
Xavier Law School (XLS) of St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata (SXUK) hosted a two-day National Conference in collaboration with Surendranath Law College on June 28 and June 30, 2025 at the university campus.
The theme was ‘Deciphering the New Criminal Laws in India- A Paradigm Shift in Effective Criminal Justice Administration’. The conference aimed to provide insights on the new criminal laws for effective criminal justice administration.
The programme started with the blessings of Rev. Dr. John Felix Raj, S.J, Vice-Chancellor, SXUK. Fr. Dr. Xavier Jeyaraj, SJ delivered the inaugural speech.
Justice Tirthankar Ghosh, Judge of the Calcutta High Court was the Chief Guest. The keynote speaker was Prof. Nirmal Kanti Chakrabarti, Vice Chancellor, The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences. The Vice Principal of Surendranath Law College was also present. An e-book was launched at the end of the programme.
