Xavier Law School of St. Xavier's University, Kolkata is pleased to announce the successful accomplishment of a National Webinar 'Consumer Protection Act, 2019: The Synergy of Consumers and Business' on January 15, 2021 in collaboration with INDIAN INSTITUTE OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION (IIPA), New Delhi (IIPA), Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India. The objective of this programme was to sensitize students on the trends of Consumerism in the light of the recent developments in consumer protection laws in India.
Dr. Sapna Chadah, Assistant Professor, Centre for Consumer Studies (CCS), IIPA and Dr. Suresh Mishra, Chair-Professor (Consumer Affairs) & Coordinator, CCS, IIPA were the eminent speakers from IIPA. Prof. Mishra deliberated on Central Consumer Protection Authority-Roles and Responsibilities and Dr. Chadah presented on Consumer Protection Act, 2019 - A Game Changer. Dr. Monodip Ray Chaudhuri, Dean, Xavier Business School, who was also part of the panel, addressed the participants on the topic Consumer Choice: An Anchor for Business Enhancement. The speakers enlightened the audience with their insightful speeches.
The program witnessed a participation of an enthusiastic response from 593 participants in total, comprising of students, faculty members, and professionals from various academic institutions and business houses across several states in the country.
