SXUK students spotlight climate justice through poster presentation
St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata (SXUK), organised a poster presentation on “Climate Justice” on September 25, 2026 as part of its Environmental Studies curriculum, providing students of third semester of Xavier Law School (XLS) with a platform to examine pressing environmental and social concerns.
The event was inaugurated by Fr. Dr. Xavier Jeyaraj, S.J., Registrar, SXUK, in the presence of external expert Dr. Kaberi Dutta and other faculty members of XLS. The inauguration was followed by an exhibition of student posters, where participants presented their research findings and engaged with the dignitaries and faculty on various dimensions of climate justice.
The presentations explored a wide range of contemporary issues, including climate justice, climate change and human rights, environmental impact of electric cars, and environmental inequality. The diverse themes highlighted the interconnectedness of environmental challenges with law, social equity, public policy, human rights and sustainable development.
Participants explained their arguments and research findings while responding to questions and observations from the visiting experts and faculty members.
