St. Xavier's University, Kolkata in association with World Vision India, Kolkata celebrated World Day of Social Justice on Saturday, 20th February 2021 in the University premises. The event was jointly organized by Xavier Business School (XBS) and Xaverians in Action (XIA) for undertaking extension/outreach activities.
The event witnessed the presence of the Hon'ble Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Sebasti L. Raj, SJ; Registrar, Prof. Ashis Mitra; the deans of all the Faculties and Schools of the University, Miss Mercy Jishing - an esteemed person from World Vision India and the Guest Speaker, Dr. Purnendu Roy, Chairman and Managing Director of Genesis Hospital.
The main objective of the event was to understand the social injustice in the healthcare sector, pre-and-post COVID 19 which was highlighted by Dr. Roy in his session.
The event was organised in a blended mode. 500 students participated in the event.
