The Department of Mass Communication, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata, is elated to announce that the documentary He Too Cries: Unheard Shadow of Silence has been officially selected for the Short Documentary and Panorama sections of the prestigious International Kolkata Film Festival (IKFF) 2024.

The documentary will be screened on:

• 5th December, at Shishir Mancha at 1:30 PM
• 8th December, at Nandan 3 at 5:00 PM

Directed and produced by the MA final-year students of the Department of Mass Communication—Abhirup Pal, Urboshree Banerjee, Anjali Jha, Ahona Das, and Debankita Deb—under the mentorship of Dr. Reshmi Naskar, the film delves into the pervasive issue of rape culture in contemporary society.

With profound sensitivity and unflinching honesty, He Too Cries breaks the silence surrounding this critical issue, shedding light on the experiences of survivors and calling for an urgent societal reckoning. This compelling documentary is not just a narrative but a call to action—a poignant blend of resilience, empathy, and the transformative power of storytelling.
