Department of Mass Communication of St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata (SXUK) organised a special lecture on Corporate Communication on August 27, 2025 at the university campus.

Mr. Subir Ghosh, a veteran academician and former Public Relations professional was the speaker. He shared valuable perspectives of corporate communication that bridged theoretical learning with practical understanding. Students of third semester of postgraduate section attended the lecture.

Mr. Ghosh emphasised the critical role of research in corporate communication, stating that a communicator must understand a brand’s ethos and feel before crafting any message. He further said that successful communication is not just about delivering information but about embodying brand’s identity in every interaction with stakeholders.

Beyond technical insights, Mr. Ghosh highlighted the importance of workplace dynamics, cautioning that in a new professional environment, it is vital to understand “who is whose” rather than “who is who.” He urged students to stay aloof from office politics and focus on their work.

The session concluded with an engaging interaction between the speaker and students. Dr. Manali Bhattacharya was the coordinator of the programme.
