Anti-Ragging Awareness Week
Anti-Ragging Awareness Week is observed annually at St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata, to raise awareness about the harmful effects of ragging and to promote a safe and supportive environment for students. This year, the Anti-Ragging Committee organized a 'Short Essay Competition' and a 'Poster Design Competition' for SXUK students to observe the 'Anti-Ragging Awareness Week' from 12th to 18th August, 2024.
A total of 20 students participated in the 'Short Essay Competition,' and 12 students participated in the 'Poster Design Competition.' The submitted essays and posters were evaluated based on objective criteria by two separate teams of teachers and officers. Participation certificates were awarded to all participants. The best short essay and poster have been sent to the press for publication in the university magazine, (Xaverianum 2024). It has been decided that Rev. Dr. John Felix Raj, S.J, the Honourable Vice-Chancellor of the university, will hand over the cash prizes and certificates to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd position holders of each competition on 8th February, 2025, during the University Foundation Day ceremony.
