COVID-19 Pandemic has significantly interrupted the higher education sector, which is a primary determinant of a country's economic future. Under these unprecedented circumstances, the major objective of the University is to ensure the health, safety and security of the students, faculty and staff members, and also to continue to provide education with a professional approach.
The Executive Council of the University has clearly suggested a method of evaluation of the Final Semester students of both UG and PG, in accordance with the guidelines provided by UGC. In this connection, the University has prepared an interactive audio-visual digital platform to conduct examinations through final semester dissertation presentations and viva-voce, interview for Guided Studies, interviews for Research Projects and Term Papers, practical examinations all of which can be conducted remotely.
These examinations have been underway since 11th June, 2020, in a structured schedule for every subject and will be completed by 26th June, 2020. The university is observing all the rules and regulations related to these examinations to ensure their sanctity and quality.
Along with Internal Examiners, the External Examiners are also present for the examinations either physically or remotely to ensure the impartial evaluation of students. Using this method the university is conducting examinations in thirty number of papers by dividing the students into several groups. Every day, the university conducts examinations in halves and in 6 to 8 parallel sessions.
The attendance of the students is almost hundred percent even for students from foreign countries. All the stakeholders of the process, i.e., students, internal and external examiners, and technical staff members are satisfied with the outcome. This experimental implementation may lay down a new horizon for prospective future evaluation processes in real time mode using network and internet.
