XAVIESTA 2025

Xavier Business School, St. Xavier's University, Kolkata, successfully hosted Xaviesta 2025 on January 31 and February 1, 2025. The third edition of the fest, themed "Trinity of Tales," brought together business, culture, and sports in an electrifying two-day event. Mr. Noomi Mehta, Chairman of Selvel One Group, graced the inaugural ceremony as the Chief Guest and inspired young business leaders with his words of wisdom. 45 colleges and universities from across India participated, with 400+ students competing in 20+ events across business, sports, and cultural domains. The fest featured exciting business challenges, cultural performances, and thrilling sports competitions, fostering innovation, teamwork, and leadership. "The Waves in the Town" rocked the stage on Day One, while DJ Nilashree set the dance floor on fire on Day Two. The event was a grand success, thanks to the efforts of the organizing team, faculty, and students. Xaviesta continues to grow as a premier student-driven fest, providing a platform for networking, creativity, and excellence.


XAVIESTA 2024

Xaviesta 2024, a 2-day B-School Fest organized by Xavier Business School, St. Xavier's University, Kolkata on January 19 and 20, showcased an exciting blend of sports events, cultural performances, and stimulating business games. The fest attracted the participation of more than 500 students from over 30 colleges in Eastern India, fostering a vibrant atmosphere of competition and camaraderie. The 2-day fest began with an inaugural session graced by the presence of the Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Dr. John Felix Raj S.J. along with Mr. Sanjay Budhia, MD of Patton Industries, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest of the Inauguration. The fest featured a diverse range of activities catering to different interests and talents. From intense sports competitions to captivating cultural showcases and intellectually stimulating business games, Xaviesta 24 offered something for everyone. The fest not only provided a platform for students to showcase their skills and talents but also facilitated networking and learning opportunities. With the enthusiastic participation of students and the support of faculty and organizers, Xaviesta 24 emerged as a resounding success, embodying the spirit of collaboration, excellence, and celebration.


X-Pectacular 2.0: Hovering Horizons

On November 4, 2023, Xavier Entrepreneurship Cell of Xavier Business School, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata, organised this Intra University Business Fest. The event was a resounding success, showcasing a diverse range of events that engaged and challenged participants. The fest aimed to foster a spirit of entrepreneurship, teamwork, and innovation among the university's budding business minds.

The day started with the lighting of the lamp ceremony by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Dr. John Felix Raj S.J., Prof. Arup Sinha (Professor of IIM Shambulpar), Dr. Sitansghu Khatua, Dean of Xavier Business School. This was followed by Father Vice- Chancellor delivering the welcome address. The inaugural session was concluded with a lecture session by Prof. Arup Sinha on “The Role of Business Intelligence in Start Ups”.

Soon after the inaugural session, the events began simultaneously at multiple venues inside the university campus. The Business Quiz was battle of wits where participants tested their business knowledge. The quiz covered a spectrum of topics, ranging from finance and marketing to current business trends, providing a comprehensive challenge for the participants. Aspiring entrepreneurs had the chance to showcase their innovative business ideas in the Pitching event. Participants presented compelling pitches to a panel of judges, emphasizing creativity, feasibility, and market potential. The CSR event encouraged participants to develop and present socially impactful projects. It not only highlighted the importance of businesses contributing to society but also demonstrated the participants' commitment to responsible entrepreneurship.

Mock Parliament was a unique event simulating a parliamentary session with a business twist. Participants engaged in debates and discussions on business policies, economic strategies, and corporate governance, testing their understanding of the business-political landscape.The Best Manager event was a challenging competition to identify the most effective and well-rounded manager. Participants faced scenarios that tested their leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, providing a glimpse into the qualities essential for successful management.

In the end, a professional touch was added with a corporate walk, where participants dressed in business attire strutted their stuff. This event not only added a fun element but also emphasized the importance of a professional image in the business world.

With over 300 students participating, X-Pecatular 2.0 provided a platform for students to showcase their talents, fostered a competitive yet collaborative spirit, and encouraged a holistic understanding of the business realm. The success of the event reflects the enthusiasm and commitment of the university's future business leaders.


X-PECTACULAR 1.0

X-PECTACULAR 1.0 was organised by the Xavier Entrepreneurship Cell & Finance Club of Xavier Business School, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata on February 25, 2023. This event was intended to be a forum for young minds to compete and collaborate for the crown of “The Best Manager”. Students from various colleges of Kolkata like J.D Birla Institute, Globsyn Business School, The Heritage College, THK Jain, etc. participated in this event. The event began with lighting of the lamp and welcome address by the Dean of Xavier Business School, Dr. Manodip Roy Chaudhari. There were a series of competitions that were organised at this event throughout the day, like Chausar (Mock Stock Trading), Chakravyuh (Marketing), Ranbhoomi (Mock Parliamentary Debate), Arthaneeti (Budget Making), and Arjuna (The Best Manager).

X-PECTACULAR 1.0 ended with the prize distribution ceremony wherein J.D Birla Institute was announced as the overall winner of the event. The day-long event was indeed very informative and enriching. The spirit of camaraderie and competition was the highlight of X-PECTACULAR.


XAVIESTA 2019

Xavier Business School organized its first ever B-School fest on 27th and 28th September, 2019 at St. Xavier's University campus and joined the league of fests organized by B Schools all over India. A list of ten B-schools participated in various events of Business, Cultural and Sports. They were, Indian Institute of Social Welfare Business & Management, Kolkata; International Management Institute, Kolkata; Globsyn Business School, Eastern Institute of Integrated Learning in Management, Kolkata; Army Institute of Management; IIT-Dhanbad; XISS-Ranchi; MDI-Murshidabad, KIT School of Management and Xavier Business School.

XAVIESTA 2019 was declared open by St. Xavier's University, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Reverend Father Dr. Sebasti L Raj in the august gathering on 27th September in presence of the Chief Guest, Shri Debasish Sen, Honorable Additional Chief Secretary, IT and Department, HIDCO, Government of West Bengal, Shri Debasish Sen had a very important message for the budding young managers that urged them to be more responsible towards the environment and be an able Corporate citizen.

Day 1 had Business events like Bid War, Kar le Jugaad, Devil's Advocate, Cash of Plans, Just Do I.T, X- Quiz-it and Chakraview. It also had parallel events of Cultural like Lights, Camera, Action, Aaja Nachle, Corp en Vogue and Sports events like Dare 2 Goal, Pull Me if You Can, Battle of Thrones running simultaneously. Day 2 had events like Tie the Knot, Quest Essential Madvertise In Business, Beyond the Voice, MBA's Got Talent in Cultural and Super Smash, Shoot Through the Hoop in Sports. The flagship event in Business, Chakraview, had tickets to Singapore for the winning teams. Day 2 also had a sumptuous corporate lunch organized for the sponsors and guests.

Although the highest winning contingent was Xavier Business School, it had a tough competition from IMI, Kolkata, the second highest contingent Amy Institute of Management and XISS Ranchi who had winners in all the three categories


CORPNITI 1.0

Corpniti 1.0 was the first inter- departmental business fest organized by Xavier Business School, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata on the 14th of February 2020. The theme for the same was ‘An Insight into MBA life’ where the aim was to give other students of the university a glimpse of the Corporate World.

Rev. Fr. Dr. John Felix Raj S.J., Vice Chancellor- SXUK, enlightened us on the inaugural ceremony on being leaders of tomorrow and Mr. Jimmy Tangree, Head – Friends 91.9 FM and a fellow Xaverian inspired the audience to follow their passion and take risks in order to be successful in life. Sneha Khanna, the Co-Convener, Corpniti 1.0 also gave a brief introduction to the event in her welcome address.

The various events for the day ranged from all different domains of the corporate world to test students’ talents and business acumen. The events were- IPL Auction, The PR event, Advertising event, The HR event, Inquizitive, X-Vision, Suit up- the Entrepreneurship event. Students from various departments of the University participated in these events. Department of B.M.S won the Best Contingent Award of Corpniti 1.0 for their overall outstanding performance and participation in all the events.
