Xaventure 4.0, the flagship marketing event organized by Marquest, the Marketing Club of Xavier Business School, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata, was successfully held on 22 August 2026 at Xavier Business School. The fourth edition of the event was conducted around the theme “NEXUS”, bringing together marketing, creativity, strategic thinking, innovation, and technology. The event provided MBA students from Semester I and Semester III with an experiential platform to apply marketing concepts to challenging and unconventional situations. The competition comprised two rounds: a Quiz + Auction round that tested marketing knowledge, strategic planning, risk assessment, and decision-making, followed by a Product Innovation Challenge focused on creativity, branding, consumer appeal, and marketing strategy. The presence of alumni as judges enriched the event with valuable practical insights and perspectives. Overall, Xaventure 4.0 fostered innovation, teamwork, strategic thinking, and effective communication among future management professionals.

Xavier Business School, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata, celebrated its 9th XBS Day on 8 August 2026 with “Clash of Cohorts 2026,” bringing together approximately 220 students from the First-Year and Second-Year batches. The event featured four mixed-cohort teams—Astra, Ignis, Terra, and Ventus—competing across business, sports, and cultural events. Students participated in activities such as debate, PR crisis management, entrepreneurial pitching, treasure hunt, sports, fashion, music, and dance, showcasing their diverse talents and abilities. The programme emphasized teamwork, leadership, creativity, communication, strategic thinking, adaptability, and healthy competition. The introduction of rolling legacy trophies established Clash of Cohorts as a potential annual XBS tradition. Team Terra emerged as the Overall Winner, while Team Ignis secured the Overall Runner-Up position. Overall, the celebration successfully strengthened interaction between cohorts, fostered a stronger sense of community, and provided students with valuable experiential learning in collaboration, event management, leadership, and teamwork.

Xavier Business School, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata, organized Business Summit 2026 on 25 July 2026, themed “Vision 2047 – The India Story.” The summit brought together industry leaders, academicians, management professionals, and 200 MBA students for insightful discussions on India’s evolving business landscape and its journey towards nation-building.

The event featured an inaugural session, a keynote address by Mr. Keshav Beriwala, Director, Shyam Steel Industries, and an engaging panel discussion titled “Scaling Bharat: What It Really Takes to Grow in India.” The discussions highlighted entrepreneurship, innovation, manufacturing, sustainability, infrastructure, human capital, and collaboration among industry, academia, and policymakers.

A special session by the Mumbai Dabbawalas demonstrated the importance of teamwork, discipline, customer-centricity, and operational excellence. The summit concluded with an interactive student activity, encouraging reflection and collaboration. Overall, the event successfully bridged academic learning with industry perspectives and inspired students to become responsible, innovative, and future-ready leaders.

X-IMMERSION 2026 was a residential experiential learning and leadership development programme conducted at St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata, from 30 January to 1 February 2026 for Executive MBA students. The programme integrated academic learning with simulations, team challenges, case competitions, leadership labs, and cultural activities to enhance strategic thinking, collaboration, and leadership skills. Participants worked in mixed teams, promoting cross-cohort interaction and peer learning. The panel discussion on business and nation-building enriched industry understanding, while competitive activities strengthened problem-solving and communication abilities. Overall, X-IMMERSION 2026 successfully fostered leadership development, teamwork, and professional networking.

The Business Fair organized by Xavier Business School at St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata on 15 November 2025 was a vibrant academic event that showcased the semester-long field projects of MBA Semester III students (Batch 2024–26). Around 120 students, divided into 20 groups, explored the theme “Grassroots Entrepreneurship: Unveiling the Unorganized Sectors,” focusing on small businesses such as tea stalls, vegetable vendors, bakeries, flower shops, and juice outlets across Kolkata. Through extensive field visits and direct interactions with entrepreneurs, students gained practical insights into operational challenges, sustainability concerns, and growth opportunities in the informal sector.

The fair featured creative stall presentations using models, live products, and visual displays that recreated real business environments, making the learning experience immersive and engaging. External evaluators appreciated the depth of research and practical orientation. The event successfully highlighted the socio-economic importance of micro-enterprises while reinforcing experiential learning and industry relevance in management education.

The event brought together MBA students from Semester I and III to showcase their creativity, strategic thinking, and teamwork through multiple competitive rounds. Participants applied marketing concepts in real-world scenarios, enhancing their analytical and communication skills. The presence of alumni judges added industry insights and inspiration for students. Overall, Xaventure 3.0 provided an engaging platform for experiential learning, fostering innovation, collaboration, and professional development among future marketing professionals.

On September 13, 2025, People Elements 2025, the flagship event of the HR Club of Xavier Business School, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata, unfolded as a vibrant platform celebrating contemporary HR thought and practice. Hosted at the university amphitheatre, the event brought together students, faculty, and industry leaders to explore the evolving dimensions of leadership and people management in a technology-driven corporate world.

The event began with an inaugural address by Mr. Gautam Banerjee, Executive Director (HR), Coal India Limited, who emphasized the growing strategic role of HR in modern organizations. The highlight of the day was an engaging panel discussion on “Changing Strides in Leadership in a Tech-driven Corporate World”, featuring senior HR leaders from leading organizations. The discussion was interactive and bridged academic perspectives with real-world corporate insights.

The intellectual exchange was followed by three competitive events—Bizz Solve (HR Case Study Competition), Crazy Clique (Physical Activity Event), and HR Decodes (Quiz Competition). These activities tested participants’ analytical thinking, teamwork, and practical HR knowledge. With enthusiastic participation from students, People Elements 2025 successfully fostered industry-academia collaboration and emerged as a resounding success.

On August 30, 2025, Xavolution 2025, the flagship event of MADEQ, was successfully organized at St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata. The event aimed to assess students’ business knowledge, analytical skills, and managerial aptitude through multiple competitive rounds. It began with a quiz round that tested general and business awareness, followed by two budget-based events requiring strategic thinking and effective resource allocation. The final pitching round allowed participants to showcase creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork. The event was further enriched by an address from Mr. Avijit Dutta, whose insights motivated participants. With active student participation and strong institutional support, Xavolution 2025 proved to be an engaging and rewarding learning experience.

The Business Summit 2025 was successfully organized by Xavier Business School, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata, on 12 July 2025. The event served as a vibrant platform for interaction among industry leaders, entrepreneurs, academicians, and students, fostering dialogue on the future of business, innovation, and leadership. The inaugural session highlighted the importance of industry–academia collaboration in driving sustainable growth and national development.

Two insightful panel discussions— “The Future of Business: Vision 2047 – Amrit Kaal” and “Brick by Brick: The Founder’s Hustle”—offered valuable perspectives on digital transformation, sustainability, entrepreneurship, resilience, and customer-centric strategies. Industry experts and startup founders shared real-world experiences and strategic insights, enriching participants’ understanding of contemporary business challenges and opportunities.

Student engagement activities such as business quiz and debate competitions further enhanced the learning experience. Overall, STRAT-X 2025 was a highly impactful event that inspired strategic thinking and strengthened the connection between academia and industry.

On 25th November 2023, the second-year students of Xavier Business School, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata hosted a captivating Business Fair as a part of their curriculum. Former Union Minister of Finance and Home Affairs, Shri P. Chidambaram, graced the fair with his presence. The students were divided into groups and they had to showcase various unorganised sectors ranging from tea stalls, street food, juice vendors, flower vendors etc. Students were evaluated by two externals from IIFT Kolkata.

The event began with Shri P. Chidambaram delivering insights about the street’s vendors of India and how they form an integral part of India. This unique initiative aimed to foster experiential learning and provide a practical understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the unorganized business landscape. The students curated an impressive line-up of unorganized sector vendors, representing a spectrum of industries and by actively participating in the fair, the students not only gained invaluable real-world experience but also contributed to the empowerment of the showcased vendors. The objective of the business fair was to understand how much revenue various unorganised sectors generate, which does not form a part of India’s GDP. Also, the students aimed to identify the various problems faced by these vendors along with potential solutions.

The Business Fair organized by the students of XBS not only celebrated the resilience of unorganized sector vendors but also showcased the capabilities of the students themselves as they actively participated in the exhibition. This innovative approach to experiential learning underscored the importance of bridging the gap between academia and the business world.

On November 18, 2023, XACQUANTOPIA, a flagship event of People Elements, the HR Club of Xavier Business School, St. Xavier's University, Kolkata, was unfolded as a grand confluence of Finance, Marketing, Analytics and HR expertise. This dynamic and energetic carnival aimed to bring together the brightest minds, fostering an environment of collaboration, competition, and creativity. The event showcased the critical interplay of Finance, Marketing, Analytics and HR as the bedrock of sustainable success in the ever-evolving landscape of business, commerce and industry.

The first part of XACQUANTOPIA featured a thought-provoking panel discussion on "Remote and Hybrid Work Systems." Experts from the industry were part of this Panel discussion that was moderated by an HR student of XBS. The panel discussion was followed by was followed by two exciting competitive events : Elegance en Vogue - A Formal Affair & Mining Trivia - Blow Your Mind

These events not only provided a platform for students to showcase their talents, flairs and aptitudes but also added a layer of excitement and competition to the multifaceted XACQUANTOPIA celebration. The success of these segments reflects the dedication, commitment and perseverance of both the participants and the organizers in making the event a resounding triumph.

On October 17, 2023, Xanskriti, the Art and Cultural Affairs Committee of Xavier Business School, St. Xavier's University, Kolkata organized Ananda Utsav 2023 with the primary objective of celebrating the festive spirit of Durga Puja and Navaratri and therefore bringing together the diverse student community. Durga Puja is one of the most significant festivals for Bengalis, and this event aimed to provide a glimpse of the joy and excitement surrounding this festival.

The event featured a series of captivating cultural performances, including traditional dances, music, and recitations. Students from various cultural backgrounds showcased their talents, creating a platform for cultural exchange and appreciation. Students and Faculty members were enthusiastically dressed up in traditional ethnic outfits. Xanskriti's efforts in organizing this event were commendable and contributed to fostering a rich cultural environment within the institution.

An event Marquest, the Marketing Club of Xavier Business School, St. Xavier's University, Kolkata organized an engaging and insightful event for MBA students on 23rd September 2023. The event aimed to enhance students' knowledge of branding, product development, and marketing strategies. The event consisted of two main components: a Brand Quiz round and a New Product Development Challenge, both of which encouraged active participation and learning. The event concluded with teams presenting their product concepts and marketing strategies to a panel of esteemed judges consisting of alumni from the Batch of 2020.

The event provided MBA students with a platform to apply their marketing knowledge, learn from experts, and develop essential skills. The event's success was made possible by the dedication of the organizing team, the active participation of students, and the valuable contributions of the alumni judges. Such events serve as a testament to the commitment of Xavier Business School to providing holistic and practical education to its students.

The Management Games, Debate, and Quiz (MADEQ) Group of Xavier Business School, St. Xavier's University, Kolkata organized Bid Blitz, a Business Auction game designed for MBA students on September 02, 2023. The game aimed at providing the students with hands-on experience in strategic decision-making, negotiation, and resource allocation.

Business Auction was a simulation-based learning experience that mimics real-world business scenarios. Participants were divided into teams and were given a virtual budget to bid on various assets, projects, and resources. The goal was to maximize the value of their business and achieve strategic objectives within a limited time frame.

An event celebrating the new year, organized by Xanskriti and MADEQ of Xavier Business School was held on 13th January 2023. During the hour-long event, students of XBS along with the faculty members celebrated New Year by welcoming all the upcoming possibilities and opportunities and leaving behind all the past hardships and melancholy.

On 2nd November, 2018, The Management Games-Debate-Quiz Group (MADEQ) of Xavier Business School organized a student inclusive and student driven Quiz to encourage flow of knowledge and ideas. Learning through management quizzing is fun and goes beyond the traditional bounds of management training. The preliminary round entailed general awareness questions such as 'Identify the brand from the tagline', 'Current Affairs' etc. Four teams qualified for the Grand Finale which included three rounds focusing primarily on business and management. Lastly, several audience questions were also incorporated to increase student involvement.

On The Management Games-Debate-Quiz Group (MADEQ) of Xavier Business School organized ‘BIDWAR – The Auction’ for the students of XBS on January 19, 2019. Bidwar is a business auction that facilitates around the idea of helping the students expand their instant decision taking abilities and to promote a sense of healthy competition among them. The idea promulgated through this auction is that in order to run a successful business it is imperative to have an impeccable combination of all the resources. The art of balancing all the resources with the quantum of finance available is an essential competency that should be imbibed amongst all the students.

Xavier’s Entrepreneurship Cell (XEC) organized this event for the new batch (2019-21) of students of Xavier Business School on August 10, 2019. The event was an amalgamation of virtual as well as real rounds, conducted across four days, categorized into the following three levels –

a. Innovation for a Better World
b. Brain-Frain
c. Trade Charades

Each of the levels was aimed at observing and testing some of their other entrepreneurial skills like innovation, presence of mind, risk-taking ability, and cognitive skills.

FINNOVATION - The Finance Club of Xavier Business School organized "Plus and Minus", the first competitive online event of the Semester on 26.09.2020. The event witnessed participation from both first and second-year students and saw all teams bring out their A-Game. The event comprised three rounds distinct from one another that engaged the participants both mentally and physically.

Talent hits a target no one else can hit because everyone is unique in their own sense.

The Art and Cultural Affairs Committee of Xavier Business School conducted a virtual talent hunt event for their students named XBS GOT TALENT on 28th September, 2020. Through this event, the committee brought forth the awakening of the unquestionable brilliant skills of the new batch of Xavier Business School, Kolkata, where the students came forward and surprised the members with their inbuilt, hidden, and golden talents.

XAVIER ENTREPRENEURSHIP CELL (XEC) conducted the second edition of its flagship event “X-Initium” on October 01, 2020. Due to the prevailing pandemic situation, this year’s edition of X-Initium took place online.

With three rounds designed to showcase the entrepreneur inside the students, they were given the chance to showcase their skills and creativity in front of industry experts.

Xavier Social Responsibility Cell, the CSR Club of Xavier Business School started its journey with X-Scribe, an Essay Writing Competition on October 2, 2020. Some of the brightest minds in the country can be found on the last benches of classrooms. Through this event, participants explored their talents in writing and channelized their thoughts and ideas into something magical.

Xavier Business School’s MADEQ conducted its first calendar event of 2020, Budding Managers 1.0, curetted especially for all the students of Xavier Business School on October 05, 2020. Spanning across three rounds of simulations, brainstorming, and thought processing, the participants got an opportunity to prove their mettle in a world of cut-throat competition and gained an insight into the corporate world through the rounds created within the purview of business management.

ALOHOMORA is the inaugural event of Marquest - the Marketing Club of Xavier Business School and it was conducted from October 6 to 8, 2020. 12 teams from Xavier Business School participated and 6 of them have qualified for the final of this event. After being tested for their mettle in the brand quiz, the final round saw participants’ coming up with fantastic revival strategies for brands we once knew and loved. Despite the testing times, ALOHOMORA became one of the most interesting events for the students.

People Element - The HR club of Xavier Business School conducted “PRET PORT GATE” on Sunday October 11, 2020. It was an evening full of Fun and Frolic. Through this event, they tried to make the human bonds of XBS stronger and focused on the engagement between the students of both the years.

Xavier Business School Sports Affairs Committee Xathletes conducted its very first digital sports event X-SPOGER on 17th and 18th October, 2020. It was a multi layered event across two days which tested the participants’ instant decision taking abilities and knowledge in the field of sports.

Xavier Social Responsibility Cell, the CSR Club of Xavier Business School hosted their second event for the students of XBS on October 20, 2020 named X-STIR. The main objective of this event was to spread awareness about the social responsibilities of an individual as well as those undertaken by various organizations for the welfare and development of the society as a whole. The event consisted of 2 rounds. A preliminary Quiz followed by a CSR Strategy making round.
