• to plan and recommend the activities for the university to conduct quality research
• Approval of Ph.D. Programmes.
• to consider appeals for change of research topic of those scholars who have already been registered in the university’s Ph.D. Programme
• to examine the cases of differences of opinions, if any, between examiners of a Ph.D. thesis and recommend appropriate actions
• to look into disciplinary issues including ethics of research and plagiarism issues pertains to the research conducted.
