The Ph.D. programme shall be monitored by Board of Research with the help of the Departmental Research Committees.
Board of Research Shall Comprise of the following member:
- The Vice-Chancellor as the Chairperson
- The Pro-Vice-Chancellor
- Deans of the concerned Faculty/ School
- Professors and Associate Professors of the University, as nominated by the Vice-chancellor
- Three Experts nominated by the Governing Board for a period of three years
- One of the Professors or Associate Professors from among the members appointed by the Vice-Chancellor – Member Secretary
- Registrar – Permanent Invitee member
- Controller of Examinations – Permanent Invitee member
- The Supervisors of ongoing Ph.D. research work may be present as ‘Invitees’ as and when required
Functions of Board of Research:
- to plan and recommend the activities for the university to conduct quality research
- Approval of Ph.D. Programmes.
- to consider appeals for change of research topic of those scholars who have already been registered in the university’s Ph.D. Programme
- to examine the cases of differences of opinions, if any, between examiners of a Ph.D. thesis and recommend appropriate actions
- to look into disciplinary issues including ethics of research and plagiarism issues pertains to the research conducted.
