Ph.D. Programme

The Ph.D. (Law) program offered by the Xavier Law School, St. Xavier’s University Kolkata is a doctoral course aiming to train a strong team of legal experts by exploring law topics, on subjects like criminal law, business law, constitutional law, environmental law, human rights and IPR etc. with an interdisciplinary perspective. The Ph.D. (Law) program promotes academic excellence and equips students with the knowledge and skills of research. With a focus on research and interdisciplinary collaboration, this program helps future legal experts significantly impact the field of law. Post-graduate (1 year/2 years LL.M.) students with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale, desirous of continuing their legal education through thorough research may apply for the programme. On being selected as a research scholar they get a chance to contribute to their field by conducting in-depth studies under the guidance of experienced faculty members, state-of-the-art research facilities, and a vibrant intellectual community.
